If someone else bids $300 and nobody else bids, you will still win your item at $300 because it is the first bid (you beat them to the $300 bid thanks to placing a maximum bid). We are utilize a soft close auction. This means if anyone bids in the final seconds before an item closes then bidding extends 3 minutes and everyone will only have 3 minutes total to bid again. This is to keep our process fun and fair by preventing "sniping", where someone could potentially "grab an item away" from the should-be winner by bidding in the very last second.
